Chinese 110m hurdler Liu Xiang is sharing his memory of the Beijing Olympic torch relay with the public. The former world record holder donated his Olympic torch to the Beijing Olympic Museum on Monday.

"It's a hard decision for me to take out the torch because it has accompanied me for a year. But finally I decided to donate the torch to the Beijing Olympic Museum for the better use of the Olympic relic. "
Back to March 31st, 2008, Liu Xiang received the Olympic torch from Chinese President Hu Jintao and ran towards the Tian 'anmen Rostrum to officially start the round-the-world torch relay. After the ceremony, the Chinese hurdler treasured the torch at home.
The 110 hurdles Athens Olympic Champion said, "I'm very happy. It should be kept in a national museum instead of my home, so that the public can know more about the Olympics. That's what I ought to do."
When Beijing Olympic Museum opens to the public in October, Liu Xiang's torch will be among the first items that will go on display.
