Wu Chunmiao breaks world record

China sprinter Wu Chunmiao broke the world record and took gold in the women's 100-meter T-11 at the Bird's Nest. Athletes participating in this event were divided into two groups.

Both Wu Chunmiao and Brazilian world record holder Terezinha Guilhermina competed in the same group. Guilhermina led at the start, but was passed by the 23-year-old from China. Wu Chunmiao broke the world record on her way to gold with a time of 12.31 seconds.
