BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Andrei Aramnau of Belarus broke three world records to win the men's 105kg weightlifting gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Games here on Monday.

Aramnau hoisted 200kg in snatch and 236kg in clean and jerk for a combined total of 436kg, beating the previous world mark of 430kg set by Ukraine's Denis Gotfrid in 1999.

The previous world best for snatch was 199kg and 235kg for clean and jerk.

Russian Dmitriy Klokov took the silver with a combined of 423kg, and compatriot Dmitry Lapikov grabbed the bronze on 420kg.
