The bright scarlet and white uniform for women feature Russian folk designs based on the "firebird". For the men's uniforms, royal blue is the main colour theme. The uniforms carry the imperial Russian double-headed eagle insignia emblazoned on the jacket pockets. Basketball player Andrei Kirilenko joined athletes and trainers at the official opening of the showroom in Moscow. Kirilenko said that the Russian Olympic basketball team are expecting to do well at the Beijing games.
Andrei Kirilenko, Russian Basketball Player, said, "It's going to be the biggest event of the year and it's definitely the top competition for the basketball players. We won the European championship right now and we have a big expectation at the Games of course. It's not going to be easy but I think we're very capable to do that and we'll do our best."
