Special Report: 2008 European ChampionshipsOver to Basel, Switzerland now where Germany have beaten Turkey by scoring in the last minute to reach the final of Euro 2008.
Germany will face either Spain or Russia, who play the other semi-final in Vienna, Austria on Thursday.
Turkey started much better than their more illustrious opponents: Left midfielder Ugur, an all night threat, scored the opener on 22 minutes, scuffing the ball through goalkeeper Jens Lehmann's legs.
Germany equalized four minutes later when midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger cleverly flicked in a cross from Lukas Podolski in one of their first real attacks.
Germany appeared to have won the semifinal in the 79th minute when Miroslav Klose headed home to give them a 2-1 lead.
But then Semih Senturk leveled for Turkey from a close range with four minutes remaining in regular time, and it looked like another escape act by Fatih Terim's men.
But the real drama went down in the closing minutes: Phillip Lahm popped up in the Turkish box and smashed the ball home to the huge relief of his team. Germany will need to produce a far better performance in Vienna than they did here to be crowned European champions for a fourth time.
Joachim Loew, Germany coach, said, "It was an insane battle, incredible tension up till the last second. My team win the match and make through to the final, which makes me obviously very happy."
