Special Report:   2008 European Championships

Fighting to the last second, never giving up, late comebacks, and winning on penalty kicks. It sounds like Germany, but it's also a fitting description of Turkey at this year's European Championship. And fans will have a chance to compare the teams when they meet in Wednesday's semi-final in Basel.

The Turks have staged three memorable comebacks so far. Now they're determined to put on their perseverance to face the Germans, who have won 11 and lost just three of their 17 games against Turkey.

In addition to those odds, Turkey have a tough match ahead of them. The Turks were without six players against Croatia and lost a further three to one-game suspensions for accumulating yellow cards. A hammer blow came on Sunday when scintillating forward Nihat Kahveci was ruled out with a right thigh injury.
