Special Report: 2008 European ChampionshipsGENEVA, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Portugal goalkeeper Quim is out of Euro 2008 with a broken wrist, it was announced by UEFA spokesman Jorge Baptista on Saturday.
"Quim will stay with the team until around the 15th of June but he cannot play. He will be replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo of Porto at around 1pm on Sunday," Baptista said.
Quim complained of pain in his right hand after training on Friday and underwent a scan in a hospital in Geneva.
"In Friday's practice Quim damaged his hand punching the ball and suffered a fracture," said Portuguese team doctor Henrique Jones.
Quim's replacement Santo is Brazilian Helton's reserve at Porto and is uncapped.
