Special Report: 2008 Beijing OlympicsChina have suffered a 7-1 defeat to Japan in the "Good Luck, Beijing" baseball test event.
It was China who broke the deadlock first, as MLB-contracted Jia Yubing delivered a solo homer in the fourth inning, his second homer in the tournament. But shortly after, Japan overran in the fifth by two runs on a single, triple and double after two outs all because of Jia's terrible slip on first base.
Japanese made five other runs from the six. Chinese baseballers surrendered three runs in the ninth when Yoshida Kei doubled with bases fully loaded.
Japan will now meet France while China will take on the Czech Republic in Wednesday's semifinals.
