In the Copa America, reigning champions Brazil have reached the finals thanks to a penalty shoot out. They squeezed past Uruguay in a nail-biting finish after the tournament ended 2-2 after full time.

It took only thirteen minutes for Brazil to open the scoring,thanks to Inter Milan defender Maicon.

Then in the 36th minute, former Villarreal striker Diego Forlan fired home with a crisp shot,levelling the game 1-1.

Parity lasted just four minutes though, as Brazil restored their lead from a Maicon free kick.

Brazil were content with the 2-1 lead and it cost them - with 20 minutes left - Uruguay's substitute Sebastian Abreu squeezed the ball in to make it 2-2.
