Special Report:   2008 Beijing Olympics

The Flame for the 2007 Shanghai Special Olympics has been delivered from Egypt to London, England, the final stop of the round the world torch relay tour.

Leading the torch relay team, Chinese athlete Wang Shoudong, together with an English athlete, ignited the torch and headed for Leicester Square. Scores of policemen joined the team on the way to the site of the welcome ceremony. It's the first time that a Special Olympics flame has been to London. Overseas Chinese were also among the welcome group. President of the English Special Olympic Committee Lawrie McMenemy told CCTV about the significance of the Special Olympics.
