Three time NFL Super Bowl champs The New England Patriots, have come to Beijing. Their goal is to introduce American football to more Chinese people. To kick things off they held a class to teach Chinese fans how to play American football on Sunday afternoon.

What a competition! And it's only a training class for local fans.

From kick-off to touchdown, it's a physically demanding sport, with a great deal of contact in each play.

Wang Yan, Beijing Sport University student, said, "I'm a little tired now, and I am so excited to play American football with the famous stars. I learned a lot in this afternoon's practice. The sport is very interesting."

The New England Patriots came to Beijing to popularize American football, to teach more Chinese people about the sport and make them love it too.

Physical strength is not enough. Fast pace and strategic thinking are also needed.

Benjamin Watson, New England Patriots tight end, said, "I am very surprised that they learned very fast. They do very good."

This is the New England Patriots' first visit to China. It's been a successful Chinese tour for them if their welcome by Chinese fans is any indication. But only time will tell if their efforts at promoting the sport here in China will be a success.
