HONG KONG, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Li Haiqiang of South China football club was named the Hong Kong footballer of the year, announced Hong Kong Football Club (HKFA) here on Monday.

The 30-year-old middle fielder has been in inspirational form this season, scoring 6 goals out of 27 appearances for South China.

The HKFA also announced that Mior Casemiro, also from South China, was award best coach of the year and Cristiano Preigchadt Cordeiro of Xiangxue Sun Hei was the Most Favorite Player of the year.

The South China club had won the title of the A-Division and FACup this year and four players have been named the 11 top players of the 2006-2007 season.

Martin PK Hong, chairman of the HKFA said, "After a hard season, the HKFA want to give our players a break to thank them for their hard work during the season."
