Sevilla are favourites to progress to the final of the Spanish Cup following a 3-0 victory at Deportivo Coruna in the first leg of the semi-final clash.

Deportivo Coruna played host to Sevilla on Thursday. The visitors started brightly in this cup encounter.

Frederic Kanoute scored the first for Sevilla after 12 minutes. The pass from Alexander Kerzhakov on the wing was just perfect, and the Malian slotted the ball home.

Two minutes later and the visitors had doubled their tally.

This time it was Jesus Navas with the strike. Daniel Alves on the wing ran the length of the pitch with the ball before passing it to Navas in the area.

Deportivo tried hard to fight back. With less than ten minutes on the clock Sebastian Taborda was denied by an excellent save in the Sevilla goal.

In injury time the hosts suffered a further blow. The visitors were awarded a penalty for a hand ball in the area, which sealed their victory, 3-0.
