Meanwhile China's women footballers thrashed Jordan 12-nil in another preliminary encounter.
China's men's basketball team got off to a good start, ending the first quarter with a 9 point margin.
Sun Yue scored 22 points, and Yi Jianlian contributed 21.
Uzbekistan tried their best throughout the match but their opponent was just too good. The Chinese finally sealed the victory 91-68.
Reining champions China were never under threat.
Veteran guard and team captain Miao Lijie put on a fine display of three-point shooting as she hit five shots from long range to finish with 19 points, making her the team's joint leader scorer.
With a 17-point margin going into the second quarter, the game appeared as merely a training run for the well-drilled Chinese team.
The Chinese women kept their momentum and eventually ran out as winners. The final score 106-30.
Han Duan set China on their way with two goals in the opening 12 minutes.
With a 8-0 advantage into the second half, Han Duan's fourth goal came two minutes after the break to make it 9-0.
Substitute Ma Xiaoxu netted the final two goals in the 68th and 73rd minutes to make it a round dozen for China.
After two of the three games each team play, China top group A on a goal difference.
