On June 29th, 2001, the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway began. The Tibetan people dressed up in their best clothes to celebrate this historical moment with singing and dancing.

After 22 years of waiting, the first sound of the drill marked the restart of construction of what is known as the 'sky way'.
