Chinese-Canadian Philip Lee has been sworn in at the Manitoba legislature as the province's 24th lieutenant governor.

Lee took over from John Harvard to become the Queen's official representative in Manitoba. He says he will use his position to advocate for the visually impaired.

Philip Lee was born in Hong Kong and moved to Canada in 1962 to study chemistry. He's been living in Manitoba for almost 50 years and is the first Canadian of Chinese descent to hold the province's highest political office.
