PLA's 82nd founding anniversary: China's military modernization

August the 1st this year marks the 82nd anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

On August first, 1927, the CPC led an armed uprising against local warlords in Nanchang, in east China's Jiangxi province, which is regarded as the founding day of the PLA. Today, the army with a focus on modernization, will continue to improve its ability to defend the country and deal with crises and safeguard peace.

This is the Military Camp of the Artillery Brigade of the Jinan Military area command, in Queshan County, Henan province.

Just after 8 o'clock in the morning, daily comprehensive maneuvers have already begun.

A variety of anti-tank weapons, Red Arrow 9 anti-tank missiles, and radar equipment make the combat exercises more effective.

In order to transfer weather information more efficiently, personnel from the artillery brigade and researchers have done a lot of work.

Wang Zhaozhen, Brigadier Jinan Military Area Command, said, “The main method for the transfer of information by the Weather Radar is through the telephone. And now we have achieved the synchronization of telephone transmission and digital transmission. This is a useful way to save time.”
