Chinese, Russian troops demonstrate skills at military exercise

Today is the final day of "Peace Mission-2009", a joint anti-terror military exercise between China and Russia. Some 2,600 Chinese and Russian troops showcased their skills in a simulated combat showdown.

More than 100 tanks, self-propelled cannons, as well as more than 60 aircraft fought imaginary terrorists in an 80-minute final performance of the five-day maneuvers.

Military observers from members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and senior officials with the SCO's secretariat watched the exercise at the Taonan Tactical Training Base in the northeastern province of Jilin.
