The World Bank has lowered the 2009 growth rate for most economies, indicating a recovery will take longer than previously expected.
Dr Tang Min, deputy secretary general of the China Development Research Foundation, said this shows that recent talk of a recovery was overly optimistic.
Dr. Tang also highlighted that China and India stand out in the report as the main contributors to world economic growth in 2009 and 2010. He said China and India can contribute, but the world can't depend on them completely for a full recovery.
