Special Report: Air France jet vanishes |

Brazil's Defense Minister says oil slicks indicate an explosion was unlikely in the Air France plane crash.

Nelson Jobim gave the assessment at a news conference in Brasilia.

Earlier, officials said the search teams had spotted four more clusters of debris about 90 kilometers south of the first wreckage discovered.

Jobim says no bodies have been spotted, but they could take up to six days to surface.

Nelson Jobim, Brazil's Defense Minister, said, "The only thing you can conclude is that the presence of oil slicks could rule out the possibility of a fire, an explosion. In that case, there would be no oil slicks. For the bodies, there are some cases when certain corpses discovered under similar circumstances, there are cases where corpses only emerge six days after. This depends on the water's temperature and the formation of gases inside the body."
