A Cross-Strait Forum between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan opensFriday. It has been the center of attention of officials and residents on both side of the Straits who are looking forward to further cooperation and development. Over 8,000 Taiwan compatriots from all walks of life are expected to attend the event, held in mainland's Fujian Province.
