Verona, with its numerous well-preserved historical buildings, is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Among the city’s many attractions are the Arena, the San Zeno Basilica and the Castelvecchio Bridge. Strangely, though, Verona’s chief claim to fame is its assocation with an Englishman, William Shakespeare, who made it the setting for his great tragedy, Romeo and Juliet.
