The city of Paris has a very special place in the history of the Olympics. It was the home town of Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympics. It was also the host city of the 1900 and 1924 Summer Games. Paris is, of course, a city steeped in history and culture.
The Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and the Arc de Triomphe are just some of the great buildings it is famous for. But Paris also has its modern side, epitomized by its fashionable boutiques. Contrasting with Paris’s laid-back image is a sight that can be seen occasionally along its tree-lined boulevards – youngsters enjoying exciting sports on wheels.
With dusk approaching, it’s time to leave the BMX Club. From there, it’s off to downtown Paris, for a carnival. This particular carnival is a unique occasion – with ten thousand people all moving together on wheels.
