Watch Video: Part 1 >>

It is 5:30 pm on May 17th. An inspiring piece of news has come from the Jinhe mines in Hongbai Town, Shifang municipality, another area devastated by the earthquake.

It is 11 am. When a veteran worker hears a faint voice crying for help from under the rubble, he runs down the hill to get help and meets up with three university student volunteers from Chengdu. The three young men run up to the ruins. After struggling along mountain trails for three hours, they finally arrive at the site and, having no tools, they begin digging with their bare hands while encouraging the man in the rubble to hold on. After digging for two hours they get the man out. The rescued man is 33-year-old miner Zhou Zhi, and he has been buried under the rubble for 120 hours. When the rescuers carry Zhoy Zhi down the hill they find the road has been cut by landslides, but they continue on, removing rocks and debris as they go.
