Intro:

Malaysia is one of the few counties that never take China as a threat but as an opportunity. 35 years ago, the bilateral relations were established under regional adverse circumstances；today Malaysia seeks better cohesion in forging a comprehensive partnership with the PRC in times of global economic recession. China welcomes dialogue in settling disputes.

Today we are joined here by Dato Abdul Majit Bin Ahmad Khan, President of the Malaysia China Friendship Association. And we shall be talking to Mr. Cheng Ruisheng in a telephone interview in the first half of our program. He witnessed what happened 35 years ago. But, up first, let us look at the highlights of the bilateral relationship.
