Given the current tensions between Japan and China, it is likely that these two countries will remain suspicious of each other's strength and intent in the foreseeable future. Four Japanese cabinet ministers visited the Yasukuni Shrine on Aug 15th and 58 members of Parliament also came along. It's exact on this day that the Japanese surrendered towards the end of the Second World War in 1945.

A few days earlier, the emotional behavior of Chinese football fans at Asia Cup in Beijing aroused a strong repercussion from Japan. Distrust is running deeper and political ties are getting as tensed as ever. The Japanese media questioned the China's ability to host the 2008 Olympic Game in Beijing. China refuses the speculation.

Join us in the first part of Dialogue are professor Hou Yiling, from Beijing Foreign Study's University and Mr Zha Daojiong from Renmin University.

In the second part, we will be joined by Mr. Rowan Simons, chairman of club football.
