New York City's Pace University is hoping to be a location that links east and west. A Confucius Institute, a prominent sign of eastern culture, has been set up at the university, which is situated right next to the hub of western finance Wall Street.

Located in downtown Manhattan, sandwiched between Wall Street to the south, and a Chinese community to the north, Pace University opened a Confucius Institute on Tuesday.

With its unique location, and as the fourth in New York and fifty-eighth in the entire US, this Confucius Institute bears some distinctive characteristics.

Stephen Friedman, the president of Pace University says, other than functioning as a new bridge between Chinese and American people, the institute can improve the relationship between Pace University and Chinese communities in US.

Pace University excels in contributions to major publications and carries on frequent exchanges within Chinese publication circles.
