The World Design Congress will be held in Beijing this October. The event is considered the Olympics of the design industry, and it's a first for host China.

This year's Congress focuses on "Xin", symbolizing communication  and the transfer of messages.

This year's Congress focuses on "Xin", symbolizing communication and the transfer of messages. Experts say holding the congress in Beijing will help trigger the transformation of domestic enterprises, from "Made in China" to "Designed by China".

Designers from 67 countries and regions around the world are expected to attend.

The World Design Congress is held every two years.
