The most comprehensive exhibition of work by one of Britain's most famous and influential photographers- Cecil Beaton- has gone on sale. Beaton offered a unique pictorial insight into British society from the 1930s onwards.
Iconic images of like Audrey Hepburn and Greta Garbo have been put on sale in a rare exhibition.

Photographing the cream of the stage and screen, society and members of the royal family helped Cecil Beaton establish himself as one of the most influential photographers of his time.
Collectors and art historians have deemed his work essential to the cultural life of Britain in the twentieth century, as both a creator and recorder.
The photographs are being showcased at the Chris Beetle Gallery in London. They include vintage and modern prints. The latter have been produced from original negatives held in the Sotheby's archive.
