This year the fair is focusing on the Indian book and publishing market with over 90 exhibitors represented, including fifty writers and forty publishers. They cover a range of topics ranging from the academic, arts, and children's stories to publishing solutions for those who want to get books into print. India has a population of 1.17 billion people and the market is seen as an area of much growth potential.

Alistair Burtenshaw, the director of London Book Fair said, "India is such a fascinating market that the diversity of writing, as you will know India has twenty three official languages, there's writing in all of those languages and many more and we're delighted to have fifteen of those languages present at London Book Fair this year but also there India is a market that is growing so rapidly, obviously everyone knows India is a very large market, it's growing very fast, but also the publishing industry in India is really thriving and so our aim is to look at opportunities to take great Indian writing, great Indian ideas and spread them around the world through publishing new books into different languages."

The London Book Fair's focus on India this year is aimed at strengthening cultural and publishing relations between India and the UK.
