In the city of Wuhan, in Hubei province, a museum recently began a trial operation. Every Saturday, locals and tourists can revisit the heroics of the battleship, Zhongshan.

In the city of Wuhan, in Hubei province, a museum recently began a trial operation.

The museum is located in a park near the memorial for Chinese soldiers killed on the battleship Zhongshan in an attack by Japanese war planes during World War 2. The vessel was built in 1910. At the time it was sunk by Japanese bombers in 1937, it had served in virtually all major navy battles defending Chinese waters. The museum will be officially inaugurated later this year.
