Minced seaweed, shredded meat, finely chopped carrots and bean sprouts... all wrapped up in a thin pastry and dipped in a curry gravy. These are the spring rolls loved so much by locals that many of them gulp down two rolls or more in one go.
The pastry is hand made, giving it a chewy texture.
This shop in Lugang Harbor sells more than 20 thousand spring rolls every day. The three staff members are making the pastry treats in fifty ovens. It's a family affair, with the fifth generation currently operating the business.
