A Chinese man named Cai Mingchao says he was the winning bidder for the two bronze sculptures at the Christie's auction in Paris last week. He also says he has no intention of paying for the treasures looted from Beijing by the Anglo-French allied forces during the second Opium War. The heads of a rat and a rabbit were from the estate of Yves Saint Laurent. They sold for a combined price of 31 million euros.
