Going to concerts is a popular option for Beijingers looking for New Year holiday entertainment. The city's major theaters and concert halls have packed the Spring Festival season with operas, ballets and concerts.

The two-hour concert covered a mix of music genres, ranging from Chinese folk songs to South Korean pop, to music from western films. The overall theme was "Going Home," sending a message in keeping with the enduring spirit of the Spring Festival.

Concert director, Sun Weiliang, believes family reunions will always be the core of the festival which every year triggers the world's largest human migration.
