The Qiang ethnic community in Beichuan, in southwest China's Sichuan Province, is known for its delicate embroidery. Now this art, with a history spanning thousands of years, looms as a promising source of income for local people.

It is not just a fantasy. In Li Linxiu's village, an embroidery factory has just landed a contract in the Philippines. There, a handbag with traditional Qiang designs sells for 800 yuan, about 115 U.S. dollars.
