The lantern festival is one of the major cultural activities in Nanjing during the Spring Festival holiday.

Cao Zhenrong, lantern craftsman, said, "This time last year I had made around 3-thousand rat-shaped lanterns. And all of them were sold out within the first three days of the Spring Festival. This time around I've produced nearly 5-thousand ox-shaped lanterns with the help of my daughter."

Cao Zhenrong has been in the industry for over forty years. He is widely recognized for his intricate craftsmanship.
