A new exhibition of paintings and sculptures with an ecological theme has opened in Britain. |
The exhibition's 33 vibrant paintings and 21 sculptures center around the Dylan Thomas poem, called "The Force That Through the Green Fuse Drives The Flower".
The exhibition in South West London is inspired by the words of the poem and has an ecological theme.
Paul Vanstone, sculptor, said, "What joins the show is a poem by Dylan Thomas called the Green Force That Flows Through Us, and it's about the way the force of nature flows through nature and flows through us and that's what we're trying to reflect in our work."
The sculptures in onyx and marble take on a human and abstract form creating fluidity and movement through their shape and design. They represent not only the energy flow which drives life, but also the millions of years taken to form the stone.
Paul said, "I'm almost directly I feel because I love natural materials, I'm carving natural materials and I'm feeling something which has taken millions of years to be made and I just feel the way the stone has been made, or marble is made you get these sort of flow of minerals which form these great colours, you get this great colour, the pallet of colour in stone."
