The annual International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo has opened in the capital. It features stalls from far-flung corners of the globe, but it was 64 companies from Taiwan that formed one of this year's highlights. And there have been calls for more communication and cooperation across the Taiwan Strait.

The Taipei booth features elements relating to how we live, what we eat, how we play and what we see.The beach volleyball shoes with a Chinese traditional symbol and some fashionable elements are popular with many Asian young people. There is also a mix of Taiwan ethnic folk culture and European and American trends.

Chun-Huan Ho, Taipei Palace Museum, said, "We see the development of the cultural and creative industry as the best tool of cultural marketing and art education. In the 21st century, all the world is focused on the development of the cultural and creative industry. The duty rests also on our shoulders, the Palace Museum in Beijing and Taipei."
