It's an old but philosophical story about love, temptation and forgiveness. "At the Darkest Blue Sea" is adapted from Pushkin's poem "The Fisherman and the Goldfish."

The Khakass National Puppet Theater "Fairytale" was founded 30 years ago. The theater is famous both in Russia and abroad for award-winning performances in international theater festivals and competitions.

The theater has a tradition of charity shows. Admission to its Beijing run is free to orphans and children with hearing disabilities, as well as for children of migrant workers in the capital.

The current tour is one of the events organized by the Sino-Russian Committee of Friendship, Peace and Development, formed at the proposal of the presidents of the two countries.

Besides the six performances, the troupe will have a cultural exchange with the China Central Academy of Drama in Beijing.
