The China Publishing Group celebrated thirty years of reform and opening with a cameo exhibition and concert. It was Saturday night in Beijing. Li Changchun and other senior officials of the Chinese Communist Party attended.

The exhibition, features more than 100 books, magazines and digital publications. Together they paint a prosperous portrait of the Chinese publishing industry after thirty years of renewal. What the exhibition demonstrates is an aggressive, entrepreneurial industry flourishing in the new market-oriented system.

Li Changchun a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, acknowledged the achievements of the China Publishing Group. He said that the group should continue to maintain a scientific outlook. He encouraged free and innovative thinking, to make the publishing group competitive and influential around the world. He also urged the company to do its part to encourage the expansion of Chinese culture around the world.

The China Publishing Group was established in 2002. Its annual output has risen to over ten thousand publications. The organization has also completed over a thousand trades for copyright in 101 countries and regions. The group imports over 200 thousand publications every year.
