Locals flock here on the 1st and 15th of every Chinese lunar month to worship and burn incense. Some of the trees here are over 1,000 years old. An excellent time to visit the Tanzhe temple is around mid-April when the magnolias are in bloom, yielding beautiful blossoms of white, yellow and purple.
