Most of the ceramists were born here. But recent years have brought an increasing influx of artists from the mainland.

While traditional practices are widely observed, innovation and experimentation are also key among local ceramists. Their newest creations never fail to attract buyers.

In addition to selling ceramics, most local shops offer demonstrations, showing how their works are created. Customers can enjoy some hands-on experience in the mysterious processes of porcelain making.
