Thanks to the wonders of technology, there're now something quite unique available, which is guaranteed to cause a few surprises!
Flowers are essential for all big events on big days. But keeping them in peak condition though the chilly winter weather is expensive and tiresome. Scientists from Chinese Academy of Sciences have come up with the solution. They're busy breeding selection of a super flowers. Using technology developed in experiments on the Shenzhou spaceship, their new blooms are bigger and fresher than earlier varieties. What's more they're endowed with the ability to resist extreme cold. Down to minus 35 centigrade. So the boffins can offer us their bouquets with all year round freezer freshness.
Which is just as well because competition in the flower market generally is hotting up considerably, with breeders from both home and abroad vying to produce ever more exotic shapes and colors. And all this competition is driving even the most rarified buds down to an affordable price.
If you don't want to say it with flowers how about presenting your nearest and dearest with a portrait on a cake. A feast for the eyes and the heart. The process uses edible food dyes to print the digital images provided, so you needn't fear any familial dyspepsia.
A technician said, "Of course it's eatable. Because all the ingredients are extracted from fruits."
And if neither of these are likely to please, you can always try telling your nearest and dearest that the elephant you ordered got lost in the post!
