The lunar new year is bringing in a sizzling selection of new shows to Shanghai. In fact it's becoming a regular pit-stop on the International superstars' tour circuit.

Roger Waters, the founding member of the legendary British band Pink Floyd, is due rock the Shanghai Grand Stage on Monday. The 62-year-old's debut on the Chinese mainland is the start of his Asian tour.

The show has a budget of over one million yuan and everything is being done to give the Chinese fans a night to remember.

Cao Zhiyong, vice president of Oriental Pearl Ltd. Co., said, "We want to present the world's top shows in China. We want Chinese audiences to keep up with the latest international trends. It's a way to integrate China's cultural industry with the international market."

Later this month, Shanghai will echo to the sound of international operatic super group Il Divo. Il Divo have enjoyed a dramatic rise to fame in the two years since their debut album. The group has thrilled the world and bringing a part of opera to mainstream culture. Their fusion of four exceptional, classically trained voices injects real passion into the popular songs they perform.
