The widow of China's late leader Deng Xiaoping, Zhuo Lin, died in Beijing on Wednesday at the age of 93.
Born in Xuanwei county in southwestern Yunnan Province in 1916, Zhuo Lin joined the CPC in 1938. She married Deng Xiaoping the next year. She accompanied and supported Deng Xiaoping for 58 years. In January 1978, she was appointed a consultant of the Central Military Commission General Office. She served as a deputy to the fourth and fifth National People's Congress and was awarded the Independence Merit Medal from the People's Liberation Army in 1988.
