A total solar eclipse is expected to occur next Wednesday. It is attracting astronomers from around the world who are arriving in China to view the first such eclipse of the century.It will be visible to 300-million Chinese people.

Jiangnan Tianchi in Zhejiang Province is one of the best locations to view the eclipse. And it has already welcomed its first batch of visitors and astronomers from different countries and regions who are eager to get a good vantage point.

India Astronomer said "This place's latitude is suitable for viewing solar eclipse. I have been to Shanghai and Suzhou, where topography is plain but air clarity is not as good as this place."

The eclipse has sparked tourism fever in China. Experts say the best places in the country to view the eclipse are cities along the Yangtze River, including Shanghai and Nanjing.

Hotel Operator in Shanghai said "Our rooms are all sold out for next week. Most tourists are foreigners. And travelers from Hong Kong and Taiwan have also booked many rooms."
