The Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned attacks on its missions in Netherlands and Germany by Eastern Turkestan separatists and others as yet unidentified.

The Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned attacks on its missions  in Netherlands and Germany by Eastern Turkestan separatists and others  as yet unidentified.

Chinese Embassy officials in the Hague have met the Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen who apologized for the incident and promised compensation damage to property. He said those responsible would be severely punished and such events would not happen again.

Qin confirmed that the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands was attacked on Monday afternoon by about 150 "Eastern Turkestan" separatists who demonstrated outside the embassy and threw stones.

Earlier on Monday morning, two unidentified young men threw petrol bombs at the Chinese consulate in Munich of Germany, damaging the building and the national flag.

Qin Gang, Spokesman of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said "We urge the Netherlands and Germany to abide by international conventions and take measures to ensure the safety of Chinese diplomatic missions and institutions as well as the safety and dignity of Chinese diplomats."

Qin said the Netherlands and Germany had pledged to take action to protect Chinese diplomatic missions and staff.
