Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |
The Chinese mainland has reported 14 new cases of A/H1N1 flu, bringing the total number on the mainland to 125. Two more suspected cases were also reported on Thursday.
So far, 60 of the patients have been released from hospital. Meanwhile, Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans of the United States is out of quarantine and has left Shanghai for Australia.
Outside the mainland Taiwan reported four more cases on Thursday, bringing the total number on the island to 36. And Hong Kong reported 11 new cases. So far, 60 people in the SAR have been confirmed to be infected with the A/H1N1 virus.
The New Orleans Mayor, his wife and a security guard had been quarantined after arriving in Shanghai on Friday. One of the fellow passengers on their flight fell ill with A/H1N1 flu.
They left Shanghai for Australia on Wednesday night to continue their business trip in Sydney.
