The Chinese Foreign Ministry and Chinese embassies in France and Brazil worked around the clock to help search for the missing nine Chinese passengers on board an Air France plane.

After the debris of the passenger plane was found, the ministry and embassies arranged the victims' relatives to travel abroad and deal with the aftermath. The first relative of a Chinese victim arrived in Rio De Janeiro on Thursday. Authorities also expressed their deep condolences to all the victims' families. A total of 228 people were aboard the Air France plane, Flight 447.
