The Health Ministry reported nine new confirmed cases of A/H1N1 flu on Sunday, bringing the total number on the Chinese mainland to 33.

One case was confirmed in Beijing, one each in Fujian and Zhejiang provinces as well as Shanghai, and five in Guangdong Province. The latest in Guangdong - a 22 year-old woman - is the colleague of the first local transmission case who works at a photography studio.

A suspected case was reported in central Hubei province on Sunday evening.
